DISPLAY AND PROMOTION
Manufacturers have suggestions on how to best display flea and tick products, depending on the angle of the products.
“We recommend to our buyers that they have a separate section just for natural, organic and made in the USA products,” said
Adelia Ritchie, Ph.D., former president of DERMagic Skin Care for Animals Inc. in Kingston, Wash. “Most customers will look there first for
anything they need for their furkids.”
Julie Swain, CEO of Dog Not Gone Visibility Products in Kingfield, Maine, advises retailers to put flea and tick products out front.
“The high-visibility colors [of our products] automatically catch the eye, and it’s the perfect way to introduce new buyers to our
products,” she said. “Once a pet owner finds our products, they usually buy them.”
Kristen Watson, district manager for TailsSpin Pet Food & Accessories, which has stores in Georgia, said that the flea and tick
products in her store are cross-merchandised.
“This means that some of our flea and tick products are behind our registers displayed for customers to see, as well as displayed in
our health and wellness aisle,” she said. “We also use point-of-purchase signage and shelf talkers to help market these products.”
Watson said that by viewing simple signs describing some main points and facts, consumers are able to educate themselves.
“This helps them figure out which type of product will be best for them,” she said. “We also have found that eye-catching signs and
shelf talkers help draw in customers to that specific area and will introduce them to the products.”

Collar protects the dog’s neck, thorax,

leash pulling, and it gives owners superior control, the manufacturer states.
The collar stays at the top of the dog’s
neck, keeping it from lunging into the
pull. Its width and padding absorbs the
pull pressure and keeps it from the dog’s
throat. It’s also easy to use, durable and
