Fresh and Frozen Food Distribution
Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, a national pet product
distributor, has expanded its fresh and frozen category in an effort to further its initiative to build the
industry’s leading distribution platform, according
to officials for the Easton, Pa.-based company.
In addition, Phillips will be the exclusive nationwide distributor of the Freshpet product line. The
distributor also plans to expand the Nature’s Variety
product portfolio, including frozen raw pet food, in
the Pacific Northwest.
Phillips opened its 15th distribution center in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in July, and now all of the company’s distribution centers have increased capacity
for fresh and frozen storage. The company’s strategically located distribution centers allow for consistency in delivery and give Phillips a national footprint that is supporting the company’s vision to be

The new Cedar Rapids site brings products
closer to customers, many of whom now receive
products from Phillips’ Great Lakes region distribution centers, officials added. It will serve the Upper
Midwest, including North Dakota, South Dakota,
Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, Western Illinois,
Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa. Customers
served by the Cedar Rapids site will be on consistent
delivery routes, according to the company.
The Cedar Rapids site will incorporate technology such as code dating and radio frequency (RF)
scanning to provide seamless service to its customers. The code dating system of coding, tracking

INSECT SHIELD RECLAIMS DISTRIBUTION

Insect Shield has reclaimed full distribution management
of its Insect Shield for Pets product line following a pilot test
launched in 2014 during which PetEdge was the line’s exclusive

Vital Essentials has expanded the distribution of its raw pet
food in the mainland China market through an exclusive master distributor agreement with Innovation Supply.
Vital Essentials is the only raw pet food brand that Innovation Supply will distribute, according to company officials.
