DOG WHISPERER PRODUCTIONS INKS TWO LICENSING DEALS
Dog Whisperer Productions has inked two new licensing deals for products inspired
by the globally syndicated, long-running, multiple Emmy Award-nominated television series “The Dog Whisperer.” The deals are with European Home Designs,
which makes dog toys, beds and related products, and Unitrex, which offers newly
developed aromatherapy-related products.
All American Licensing, the Dog Whisperer Production’s exclusive licensing
agency, brokered both deals.
The Dog Whisperer licensing deal with European Home Designs will cover a
comprehensive lineup of products including toys, dog beds, crate mats, blankets
and throws, collars, leads, travel products, cooling mats, harnesses, grooming and
cleaning, apparel and gift sets. Each Dog Whisperer product will incorporate specific
training tips and messages for the dog owner to help reinforce the Dog Whisper-
er philosophy of improving the bond be-
tween the dog and the human, according
to the company.
Concurrently, Unitrex’s Dog Whisperer licensing deal will be an expansion of
its aromatherapy business to homes with
dogs and will include a variety of diffusers, humidifiers, sprays and essential
oils. Unitrex debuted its Dog Whisperer product line, including cannabidiol (CBD)
blended essential oils, dog tags with “calming” oils, and air fresheners at Natural
Products Expo East, which was held in Baltimore in September.
Episodes of the Dog Whisperer TV series are currently airing on the CW Network, after having played for 10 years on the National Geographic Channel.
Molly Mutt, an
Oakland, Calif.-based company known
for sustainable pet and home décor products, launched its products in the United
Kingdom at Top Drawer Home Gift Fashion and Craft Exhibition 2018, which was
held in London in September.
The brand’s Dog Duvet is patented in
the U.S. and features an upcyling concept
that offers several benefits for the dog and
the dog owner. To upcycle, pet owners
can fill a Molly Mutt Dog Duvet with old
clothing, bedding, pillows or even an old
dog bed. A pet owner’s scent in the bedding provides a calming spot for anxious
pups, said company officials.
The duvets are hygienic and machine
washable. They are made with rugged,
100 percent cotton canvas with 5-inch
Other Molly Mutt product lines include blankets, dog seat covers and crate

TETRA BRAND ENHANCES MY AQUARIUM APP
Tetra, a Blacksburg, Va.-based brand of Spectrum Brands Pet,
has added and enhanced several features for the latest version
of the My Aquarium app, which aims to help fish keepers and
seasoned hobbyists learn more about their favorite fish, what
they need to thrive and the best way to set up aquariums.
“We want to give fish keepers the ideal resource to sim-
plify the hobby—from setup to feeding to maintenance,”
said John Pailthorp, vice president of marketing at Spectrum
Brands Pet. “With the new helpful features in the My Aquar-
ium app at their fingertips, consumers can now set up their
tanks more successfully depending on their fish species and
The app’s new features include:
• Aquarium Setup Guidance, which allows consumers to
build their aquariums based on fish type or aquarium type.
When users select the type of aquarium they are building
(for example, goldfish, cichlid, marine or reef), the app will
provide guidance and recommendations to help them maintain the healthiest possible aquarium.
• Tankmate Recommendations, which provides species
information to help consumers determine ideal tankmates
as they add fish to their aquarium, as not all fish play well
• Aquarium Capacity Recommendations, which identi-fies if there are “too many” or “not enough” of a species in
an aquarium so fish keepers have the ideal amount of fish.
• Food Recommendations, which provides food recommendations to ensure fish get the nutrients they need to be
vibrant and healthy.
The enhancements complement the app’s existing features that help simplify water care and testing, set helpful
reminders and keep track of products, officials said. The app
also puts consumers one tap away from Tetra Brand’s customer service website page if they need help with the app or
Tetra products, or have general fish questions.
The My Aquarium app is free and available on Android,
Apple and Amazon phones.
