Launched in 2010, GiveLitter has supported animal shelters and cat adoption by donating more than 662,000 pounds of litter to
shelters across the country.
PET VALU’S SPRING FUNDRAISERS WERE
SUCCESSFUL, COMPANY REPORTS
Pet Valu, a specialty retailer of premium pet
food, treats, toys and accessories, raised more
than $685,000 in dollars and product during its
annual Pet Appreciation Month fundraising
and pet adoption efforts in April.
The money and products were donated to
shelters such as Philadoptables and Providence
This year’s fifth annual Come Clean for Cancer event raised
$60,000 for the Animal Cancer Foundation. During the two-day
fundraiser, which took place during Pet Cancer Awareness Month
in May, proceeds from the retailer’s self-serve dog washing stations were donated to the foundation, an organization dedicated to
finding a cure for cancer by funding research and increasing public
awareness of comparative oncology, the study of naturally occurring
cancer in people and pets. More than $167,000 has been raised since
the inaugural fundraiser in 2014.
CHAMPION PETFOODS OFFERS MEALS FOR PETS

Champion Petfoods and its DogStar Kitchen in Auburn, Ky., donated
enough food for 21,000 meals for pets impacted by the Carr Fire, which
burned in Shasta and Trinity Counties in California from July 23-Aug.

and distributed food, home goods, and supplies for people and pets.

Champion’s shipment of its Acana brand pet food arrived on
Aug. 23 and was distributed to five local rescues, including Paws
for A Cause Rescue Coalition, Tails of Rescue, Raining Cats & Dogs,
Pedro GTP Relief and Annie’s Pet Rescue.
Happy Tails Barkery and Pet Supplies provides in-depth nutritional
education to the public, along with an array of high-quality pet foods,
baked treats and other products.
“We are immensely grateful to Champion Petfoods for providing
nutritious meals to our communities’ four-legged family members, who
were put out due to the Carr Fire,” said Caitlyn Patterson, manager and
donation director of Happy Tails Barkery and Pet Supplies. “Our rescues can rest easy knowing that food will be there when they need it.”
