PET COSTUME CO. SECURES INVESTMENT
Pet Krewe, a New Orleans-based pet costume company, has secured an undisclosed
amount of seed financing.
Jimmy Roussel, president and CEO of the
New Orleans Startup Fund, led the round. As
part of the agreement, Roussel will join the
company’s board of directors.
The company will use the funds to secure branded entertainment
licenses, develop its in-house pet tech augmented reality component
and bolster its marketing efforts.
Starting in the fall, each costume will come with a comprehensive
augmented reality component. Put simply, the augmented reality application will create an immersive digital world for consumers, according to company officials. In doing so, Pet Krewe seeks to increase both
consumer engagement as well as brand equity.
Moving forward, Pet Krewe will continue to build on its foundational costume catalog of mermaids, unicorns and lions with costumes
for all shapes and sizes of dogs. Through investments in augmented
reality, digital marketing and licensed brand marks, Pet Krewe will
continue to scale its business—all while retaining its core value of experiential inclusion, officials added.
CHAMPION PETFOODS PARTNERS WITH THREE MEDIA AGENCIES
Champion Petfoods, the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based manufacturer of premium pet food brands Orijen and Acana, has reached
a new phase in the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance its business-to-consumer (B2C) marketing efforts with its newly developed relationships with three agency partners. Over the past two
months, Champion has signed agreements with global experience
design and digital marketing consultancy IBM iX, global public
relations firm Finn Partners and North American media agency
The partnerships follow Champion’s recent hiring of chief marketing officer Julie S. Washington, who was brought in to drive the
strategic development and implementation of the company’s brand
and communication initiatives. The agencies will develop and execute integrated content to directly reach pet owners on behalf of the
Orijen and Acana brands.
The three agencies will work in a collaborative manner to develop Champion’s future marketing strategy, with IBM iX helping to
lead the work relative to consumer campaigns. As part of its work,
Finn Partners will oversee traditional and digital communications,
including managing the brands’ public relations, social media and
influencer initiatives. Crossmedia’s contribution will focus on media
planning and buying.
