Westbrook, Maine-based manufacturer Planet Dog snagged the first-place prize of the World Pet Associ- ation’s (WPA) Good Works program’s second-annual
#WPAGood Works social media contest at SuperZoo.
The contest, which is designed to promote community involvement among pet professionals, encouraged contestants to
post their good works photos or videos on social media—Twitter,
Facebook and Instagram—using #WPAGood Works and tagging
SuperZoo for a chance to win. Winners received prize money,
which is donated to a charity of their choice.
Planet Dog received a check for $1,000, which the company is donating to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute
(HABRI). The second-place prize of $500 was awarded to Arlington, Texas-based Petmate, which also donated its winnings
to HABRI. K. Sutherland PR, a public relations agency, came in
third and donated the $250 to the Pet Industry Joint Advisory
Since its inception more than 10 years ago, WPA’s Good
Works program has donated more than $3 million to organizations and nonprofits. The donated monies come from the
proceeds from WPA’s events, including SuperZoo, Atlanta Pet
Fair & Conference, Aquatic Experience and America’s Family
Planet Dog and
Jennifer Cao of ZippyPaws and Kramer highlighted
the company’s new Legacy and Vivid Collections.

with live plants in the Aquatic Lounge.
