It’s hard to make people
happy with a product that
costs less than $10, but that’s
what Melissa Woodson, owner of Fowl Dog (booth 2631)
in Rumson, N.J., hopes to do
during the company’s first exhibition at SuperZoo.
The company produces
more than 100 canine-related
and breed-specific decals and
decided to try something totally different with this product
line, Woodson said.
“We matched canine,
equestrian and wildlife silhou-
ettes with patterns, a true step
away from the more tradition-
al black and white or flag-pat-
terned magnets and stickers
currently available,” she said.

“The smaller ones have
been very popular with young
adults,” she said.
Woodson hopes to connect
with retailers at this year’s
show to introduce them to
the company’s unique product line.
“We consider every Fowl
Dog retailer our partner,”
Woodson said. “When send-
ing a retailer’s first order, we
make sure to provide a couple
of free samples. We encourage
retailers to place the decals on
the register or cash wrap, or
even the floor. The decals get
a lot of attention when outside
of the packaging and applied
to various surfaces.”
Woodson added that accessories and gift items seem
to be performing particularly well these days.
“Any gift item that can retail for under $10 is popular
year round,” she said. “Customers love having that extra
connection with their pet. It may seem silly, but something like a sticker on a laptop or car window can do a lot
for a person and bring a smile to their day. It’s a happy
reminder for them, and when they see our decal, it makes
them think of who they have at home waiting for them.” ◊
