After attending SuperZoo as a visitor for the first time four years ago, Claus Frenken, sales manager for Sera North America Inc. (booth 3721) in Mont- gomeryville, Pa., decided to exhibit as well. “This is the third time in a row that we are exhibiting at SuperZoo,” said Frenken, whose booth is located in the Aquatic Terrace Neighborhood sit- uated in Hall C of the show floor. “It is not possible to visit all our partners
on a regular basis, so a trade show helps a lot to inform the people about new products
and to stay in touch.
“At the show, the retailers get a good overview of the products that are available on
the market and that they may want to add to their assortment,” he added.
Visitors to the Aquatic Terrace will find a variety of new products designed to simplify fishkeeping for hobbyists and boost retailer success.
Responding to demand for more marine products, Sera has added five foods to its
marine food line. Sera Marin O-nip is a staple food tablet designed to stick to aquarium
glass and enable hobbyists to watch the fish eating right in front of them, Frenken said.
Sera Marin Veggie Flakes are formulated especially for vegetarian fish. Also available
are Sera Marin Plankton Tabs, which are made to sink in a tank, and designed to stick to
the glass, Sera Marin Spirulina Tabs and Sera Marin Spirulina Grazer XL are for larger
fish like tangs.
Tapping in to the demand for natural products, Cobalt Aquatics (booth 4128) in
Rock Hill, S.C., is launching a natural diet in the aquarium category with its 100 percent
natural Ultra Premium pellet fish food.
Of course, hobbyists always want a clean tank and clear water, so Cobalt is presenting a Blend-Tech media line for freshwater and marine systems, and Sera is debuting
Sera Crystal Clear Professional, a reusable, high-performance filter medium for freshwater and marine aquariums as well as garden ponds.
Python Products Inc. (booth 3828) is introducing three water treatment products
formulated for saltwater and freshwater applications. Multi-Purpose Water Conditioner
makes tap water safe, while Multi-Purpose Bio-Support jumpstarts aquarium filters and
Multi-Purpose Bio-Clean breaks down organic waste, according to company officials.
In lighting fixtures, Cobalt is offering a line of C-Ray LED lights that incorporate
high-output chips, fill light strips and circular halo moon lights. They also feature
app-driven Wi-Fi controllability.
Responding to a spike in consumer interest in keeping jellyfish, Jellyfish Art (booth
4124) is introducing the Jelly Cylinder 5, a 5-gallon jellyfish aquarium designed to house
six moon jellyfish at once. Visitors can see the moon jellyfish livestock offerings as well.
