ABOUT THE PRODUCTION FACILITY
We have always built out all of our production facilities
to meet all of the California State Health Department
specifications for human-food production. In the most
recent building that we purchased four years ago, we
have been able to expand our production capacity extensively. All of our freeze-dryers are custom made for
us with proprietary features not available anywhere else.
This creates freeze-dried product that is second to none
with texture and taste that is difficult to reproduce. In
the fourth quarter of 2017, we will again be adding machinery to give Grandma Lucy’s a 50 percent growth in
capacity. We have perfected our craft over the years to
continue to bring pet parents a food they can trust in.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE MARKETING
Most pet parents wish they had the time to cook for their pets
but most of us do not. Our goal has always been to take that
off their plate. Being one of the first pet food companies to use
100 percent human-grade ingredients in our pet foods and
treats, we want people to think “home cooked” when they
think of Grandma Lucy’s. We started off with a strong 1950s
diner theme to really make people hungry. Our first freeze-dried treats had names such as Chicken Parmesan, Cheeseburgers and Pot Roast because customers generally shop for
something that sounds appetizing to them as well. As we
grew and expanded our food line, we emphasized the natural
elements of our food with distinctive ingredient pictures and
a more neutral tone, but all the while still highlighting the
“home prepared” components of our foods. Since we do use
the same restaurant suppliers as many high-end restaurants,
our foods are truly made with ingredients you could get at
your local grocery store. We have expanded our marketing
to also include some fun recipes pet parents can make using
many of our foods and treats. Our social media and marketing coordinator, Jorge, makes some amazing recipes in our
kitchen here at Grandma Lucy’s, and it is not just the office
dogs that go running in to see what he is making.

BRIAN BUTLER
key account manager
Brian came on not long before Scott in
2014. He started as an inside sales representative and quickly moved up the
ranks to our key account manager. Brian
knows something about everything. If we
ever have a question about an account,
an event or just about anything, odds
are Brian knows the answer. His wealth
of knowledge amazes us every day. He
really takes the time to get to know our
dealers and what they need. Brian can
tell you where a store is located, what
the owner and mangers names are, and
what pet each of them has. He truly loves
the challenges that come with the job and
overcoming them. He will go above and
beyond for our family of dealers. Brian
is married to his wife Zaundra, and they
have two adorable children, Connor who
is just turning one, and their fur baby,
Captain.
